I grew up in New England and graduated from Harvard University cum laude
in 1977. After college, I danced professionally in New York City for 10
years, touring the USA with the Mary Anthony Dance Theatre and other companies.
After moving to the West Coast in 1987, I shifted to solo voice. I have
sung professionally in regional opera and with area symphonies and ensembles,
and teach voice privately.
I received a Massage Therapist degree in 1984 from The Swedish Institute
(New York City), and have extensive experience in injury rehabilitation
and work with chronic pain, both in clinic and in private practice. I
have taught yoga and back-care classes.

"Ariana is an incredible voice teacher. She's more than a teacher - she's a highly intuitive artist who understands how to bring out the most of her students. She is inspiring, an amazing singer herself, and she's always willing to walk the extra mile to find the best learning material for her students. Working with Ariana really changed how I use my voice. I highly recommend working with her." -Judith Wellner
"Ariana Newcomer has both anatomic and intuitive knowledge of the body, deeply skilled hands, and a kind heart. These characteristics make her an excellent massage therapist. When I send patients to her, I know that she will understand and assist in the healing process." —Kim R. Beecher, D.C.
"Ariana has an exceptional knowledge of anatomy and physiology, and excellent clinical judgment to apply theory to practice. She collaborates well with physicians and other clinicians in treating a range of medical conditions. Her background as a dancer and a singer makes her particularly adept at treating artists. As a violinist and violist, I can attest to Ariana’s help in mobilizing and reeducating the back and upper body muscles needed to perform the complex tasks of making music.” —Valerie Bengal, M.D.
