I am very excited for E.A., a 12-year-old Learning Ears client of mine!  E. was diagnosed with Central Auditory Processing Disorder and hyperacusis (over-sensitivity to certain sounds).  E has had great difficulty reading because of CAPD and because letters would move around on the page or disappear.  She has struggled through many interventions that haven't helped much, leaving her very frustrated.

In week 8 of her Learning Ears program, E reported:
"A spider climbing on the wall used to startle me.  Now I can still hear it, but it's not so obvious.  If I'm not listening for it, it's not there.  It's like I can switch it on and off.  Letters have stabilized, except if it's tiny print they'll still move sometimes.  I've gotten through more books in the last week or two than I've done in the rest of my life."

I'm excited to see what other gains E will make as her program progresses!
